Introducing Rilke CMS:

Introducing Rilke CMS

Rilke CMS is a PHP based content management system. It can be used to publish a variety of different websites, including personal and collaborative weblogs. While many open source content management systems have a steep learning curve, Rilke CMS is designed to be usable by anyone who has used a word processor before.

Rilke CMS 0.90
The seventh release of Rilke CMS, version 0.90 has been made available at SourceForge.

A live demo of Rilke CMS 0.90 is available.

Rilke CMS 0.90 is a feature, internationalization, bug-fix and code-cleanup release. A lot of structural changes have been made in this version in order to accomodate a *one-click language change* system for the administration screen. Currently there is built-in language support for English and German. This release has Quick Post support, meaning you can add an entry from Mozilla's Sidebar, Mozilla Firebird's Web Panel, and Opera's Web Panel.

Additionally, the group of bugs which plagued the image attachment process seem to have been finally fixed. Major code cleanup of the administration screen which began in 0.85 has progressed nicely. This is the first release which has been tested extensively with register globals turned off in PHP, and it seems to work. For a detailed list of changes, please review the Changelog and this more descriptive article at the Rilke CMS News site.

Rilke CMS 0.8.5
The sixth public release has been made available at SourceForge. Rilke CMS 0.8.5 is a bug fix, code-cleanup and internationalization-oriented release. In this release, a group of bugs that caused foreign accents (for example, German Umlauts) to not show up correctly was fixed. Additionally, major code cleanup of the administration screen has begun, with two goals: 1) Make the user interface easily available in different languages 2)Make the code easier to read. The internationalization work is not yet complete, but the main foundation for it has been set with this release.

Important: Please add the following line to the end of the prefs.php configuration file after you have generated it:

require_once("lang.php");

Due to an oversight on my part, I forgot to update the prefs generator before I released the 0.8.5 files. I am sorry about this inconvenience.

For a detailed list of the bugs fixed please review the changelog. For detailed general, technical and setup information, please review the readme file.

It also includes fixes for several bugs. Please Note: The database table structure has slightly changed in the upcoming version 0.83; so if you are planning to upgrade from version 0.82, stay tuned for instructions (for those using PHPMyAdmin) on making these changes.
